NFL Football is in Full Effect
NFL football season has returned; here are the highlights from last week’s games.
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
The game that had everyone on the edge of their seats was the Dallas Cowboys vs the New York Giants. With a killer defense, the Giants had everyone thinking they were on their way to winning the game until the Cowboys fought their way back to win on a touchdown pass, 27-26.
Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams
The defending NFC champions Seattle Seahawks faced the St. Louis Rams. Fans thought this was an easy win for the Seahawks after starting the game off with a kickoff return touchdown by Tyler Lockett. The Seahawks were winning the game until an onside kick went wrong and was recovered by the Rams with more than enough time to score. The Rams tied the game which led to an overtime period where first team to score wins the game. The Rams got into good enough field position to score a field goal which gave them the lead. The rams went on to win the game 31-34 over the Seahawks.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos
The Baltimore Ravens had a tough road game when they faced off against Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos. Both teams made little damage in the first three-quarters, only scoring points through field goals. Flacco and Manning were throwing a series of pick sixes throughout the entire game. The Broncos scored and took the lead going into the fourth quarter. It was time for the two-minute drill, and that’s where Flacco does his best. Flacco threw a bomb to Steve Smith Sr., and it slipped right through his fingers. The final drive of the game was an opportunity for the Ravens to take the lead and win the game until Flacco threw it, and it was intercepted at the goal line. The Broncos went on to win the game 19-13.
Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The opener for the NFL season was a great debut for the 2nd draft pick Marcus Mariota. Mariota showed the Texan fans that they made a great choice in drafting him. Mariota threw 4 touchdown passes in the first quarter of the game. Mariota managed to shine despite his team’s loss against the Chiefs losing the game 20-27.
