Tyler Elliott and Kaelyn Duvall warm-up prior to the game. “Usually I prepare myself before a game by talking to my teammates or coaches about strategies we can use to have the best possible chance of winning,” said Duvall. “I also always like to have the mindset that every game is a battle and we have to play hard every possession to win.” Photograph by Lola Sroka

Sophomore Mckenzie Galbreth trails the ball-handler on defense. “I would say the word is adversity. That’s what we’re dealing with, that’s the biggest challenge, and in previous seasons adversity relating to the games themselves about winning or competing against some of the best teams in the league. This year we’re really competing against the virus and everything that’s going on and just trying to stay positive so that we can have a season,” said assistant coach Alex Fancher. Duvall reaches out to try and block the shot. “ “It feels great being able to get back on the court again and getting the chance to play games,” said Duvall. “Right now no game is a given and the thought of getting shutdown again is always floating in the back of my mind so I like to play like every game could be the last.” Photograph by Lola Sroka
