Indoor Color Guard Earns First Place, Makes History

The Susquehannock High School Color Guard received first place at the KIDA championships.

The Susquehannock High School Indoor Color Guard earned first place in its division recently at the Keystone Indoor Drill Association (KIDA) championships at Chambersburg Area Senior High School.

During the March 28th event, the Color Guard competed with eight other schools in the Scholastic Gold Color Guard, SAIA Division. The program titled, “Over the Rainbow” consisted of 14 members from Susquehannock High School and Southern Middle School. Haley Jacque, Angela Novacek, Mackenzie Brose, Julie Kingsborough, Miranda Nagle, Gino Palma, Destiny Rositzky, and Kaila Taylor represented the high school.  Barbara Barrett, Leigha Brown, Aalyna Silva, Bryanna Stimmel, Sabrina Trone, and Mackenzie Sauter represented the middle school.

“This is the first time that our Color Guard has been recognized with this distinction,” Susquehannock High School Band Director Christian Poole said. “Congratulations to staff members, Chrissy Drouin, April Melato, and the entire Color Guard.”
