Susquehannock High School Students Present Mary Poppins

Susquehannock High School Theatre presents the musical, Mary Poppins April 17-19, 2015. The musical is based on the similarly titled series of children’s books by P. L. Travers, which was first published in 1934 as well as the 1964 Walt Disney movie.
The story features the family of George and Winifred Banks, who are in search of the perfect nanny for their two children, Jane and Michael Banks. The children decide to write the advertisement for a new nanny, but George Banks has a different idea of what represents the perfect nanny so he tears up the piece of paper and throws it in the fireplace. Within minutes, the mysterious, magical and efficient nanny, Mary Poppins, arrives and takes charge of the Banks’ children.
Performances will take place Friday, April 17, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., and at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults ($11.00 at the door) and $8.00 for students/senior citizens ($9.00 at the door). The show is directed by Will Jenkins and features 70 cast members, including students from every school in the Southern York County School District. In addition, cast members are working with a professional flying company as they will be flying and tap dancing upside down during the show.
