This year’s senior homecoming court winners were: second runner up, Brandi Bradford; first runner up, Alexis Anelli; and queen Brittney Fitzgerald.

The girls were voted in by the senior class and announced at the Friday night homecoming football game against York Suburban.

Second runner up Brandi Bradford was shocked that she was even part of the court.

“I didn’t expect people to even vote for me out of the selection of all the girls,” said Bradford. “I feel liked by the student body for them to vote me in.”

Alexis Anelli, who was second runner up, was surprised to be on the court.

“I was shocked when I found out,” said Anelli. “I thought I was done considering I won prom princess the previous year.”

The girls were walked onto the football field right before the start of the game and were escorted by their parents.

Homecoming queen Brittney Fitzgerald was nervous to walk out onto the field.

“I honestly don’t remember much. I was so nervous,” said Fitzgerald.

Although Fitzgerald was slightly nervous, Anelli was excited when she was walked out on the field.

“I tried living in the moment because I really enjoyed it,” said Anelli. “It was very nice being walked down by my parents and hearing the band, but overall, it was a dreamy feeling.”

On the other hand, Bradford thought of the experience as a new perspective to life.

“It was actually pretty cool to be walked down by my parents,” said Bradford. “Hearing them read all of my accomplishments as I walked down was like my legacy.”

During the homecoming dance, the court was walked onto the dance floor by their date.

Bradford enjoyed the dance and being walked down by her date.

“The dance was like any other year,” said Bradford. “Being announced as the second runner up was like a dream come true.”

Fitzgerald was not expecting to win queen, so it made her dance ten times better.

“It was exciting to go to the dance knowing I was the queen,” said Fitzgerald. “I was just happy with being on the court.”

The girls now have memories that will follow them throughout the rest of their high school year.
