One month ago, the Warriors lost to the Wildcats by the same exact score. Dallastown out-hit the Warriors 10-6 and took advantage of two errors to become the county victor.   The Warrior baseball team took the same path as the softball team, losing 9-2 in the YAIAA county championship at Santander Stadium against Spring Grove. Susquehannock (16-7) did however beat the 2x State Champions, West York to get to the championship. Behind a strong showing by starting pitcher senior Sammy Miller, the Warriors were able to come out on top 4-3 against the Bulldogs. Miller went 3-for-3 in the semifinal game, driving in the go-ahead runs with a two-out single in the bottom of the second. Despite an outstanding game, the Warriors lost all momentum against the Rockets (15-6). Senior pitcher Josh Houser got off to a rough start, allowing Spring Grove to score seven runs in the first two innings alone. Houser walked six and struck-out two, while reliever senior Alec Lebo walked three and struck-out three, allowing only two runs. Spring Grove’s Dalton Hoiles and Will Maughlin took advantage of the Warriors’ shaky pitching, Hoiles going 2-for-4 and Maughlin going 1-for-2 with two walks. The Warriors will play on Monday, May 19 at home against Bishop McDevitt in the opening round of district tournament play.

Boys Lacrosse:

The Warrior lacrosse team had a short run in the district tournament, as well as the county tournament. In counties, the Warriors fell just short, 11-10, against Central York in the county semifinal game. Despite such close games, Susquehannock lost to Hershey in the first round of districts on Tuesday, May 13, 18-9. The Warriors (11-6) had a great regular season, and look to rebuild strong for next spring.

Girls Lacrosse:

Despite a great start in the tournament, Susquehannock fell very short in the next round at Penn Manor, falling 20-4 against Manheim Township. The Warriors lose only two seniors this year and are looking to come back even stronger next season.
