Southern York County School District Teacher Awarded Physical Education Teacher of the Year

Southern Middle School teacher Bev Marhevka was chosen as the 2021 Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) PA Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. SHAPE
PA recognized Bev for her leadership, dedication, professionalism, and service to our school and community.

Mrs. Marhevka had the following to say about the award, “I am very grateful and humbled to have been selected for this award. It came to me as a pleasant surprise to start the school year!  I am truly blessed to have amazing students and a wonderful department to share all aspects of this award with! This award doesn’t belong to just me, it is shared with my colleagues. I am looking forward to what the future holds for SMS Health and Physical Education!”
