COVID-19 Parent Health Guidelines

The goal of the Southern York County School District is to ensure the safety of all students. We will be following the guidelines of the CDC, Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Department of Education regarding COVID-19 symptoms that require a student to stay home from school.  Please evaluate your child every morning prior to school.  Use the following list to determine if your child is healthy enough for school each day.  The school nurse and school administrators will also be following these recommended guidelines, which means if a child reports to school with any of these symptoms, they will be isolated and you will be contacted to promptly pick up your child.

If your child has ONE of the following symptoms, they may not come to school:

-Fever of 100.4 or higher

-Cough

-Shortness of breath

-Difficulty breathing

If your child has TWO or more of the following symptoms, they may not come to school:

-Sore throat

-Runny nose/ congestion

-Chills

-New lack of smell or taste

-Muscle Pain

-Nausea or Vomiting

-Headache

-Diarrhea

If your child is taking any medication to treat or reduce a fever such as Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) or Acetaminophen (Tylenol), they may not come to school.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school nurse.

Sincerely,

The Southern York County School District Nurses
