With the average weight of an American citizen growing, most parents are steering their students towards healthier foods, yet most students in school do not even have the time in the morning to prepare a balanced breakfast.

However, there are ways to be able to prepare and healthfully eat each meal of the day no matter what time constraints exist.

One can make their own breakfast the night prior to a school morning. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich can be made easily and stored in the fridge until morning.

One can also grab a piece of fruit from the fridge drawer or the bowl on one’s counter. Fruits are full of antioxidants and vitamins that one’s body needs daily.

If one doesn’t enjoy fruit alone, one can grab some frozen fruit and yogurt to create a delicious smoothie. Honey or even cinnamon can give the smoothie more flavor. Any yogurt used is full of calcium which allows one’s body to build healthy and strong bones.

Pop the ingredients in the blender and create a quick and delicious smoothie. Empty the contents into a portable mug and then head to school, work, or any activity.

Lunch is usually the first time that people eat during the day.

The cafeteria does offer healthy sides of fruits and vegetables. For drinks, low-fat milk is available as part of lunch, and water bottles are attainable at lunch time and any time during the day.

If one doesn’t like the choices offered in the cafeteria, then one can pack a healthy and balanced meal to bring to school for lunch.

The most common option is to pack a sandwich. Different sandwich options are mozzarella and tomato sandwiches and turkey-meatball pitas.

Wraps can be filled with anything that one desires, and easily packed in for lunch.

Wraps are another easy option that one can make for lunch. With whole wheat wraps, low-fat dressings, and lots of veggies, they offer a healthy and balanced choice.

By changing a few aspects of one’s meals, one can improve their health without denying one’s self the things that he or she likes to eat.
