COVID-19 Shuts Down SYCSD

March 18, 2020

Southern York County Schools’ administration took action, closing all schools beginning March 16 and re-opening March 30.

Southern York County School District made the decision on Thursday, March 12 to begin the closing on March 13 due to the fact that a community member was tested for a potential case of COVID-19.

On a regular basis, SYCSD strives to update the community on information that they receive.

They are continuing to support the school community by giving away packed lunches to students in need on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through March 27.

Students can pick up a packed meal at Southern Middle School from 11A.M. until 12P.M.

Each packed meal will include two cold lunches as well as two breakfasts.

SYCSD has created a COVID-19 page to answer frequently asked questions.

The school district is encouraging residents to continue checking the home page and FAQ page as the situation develops.
