SMS Spelling Bee Results

The top spellers from the SMS Spelling Bee took the Regional Central Pennsylvania Spelling Bee qualifier test on January 18, 2020. The students who participated were George Ellis, Natalia Ramirez-Snell, and David Koval. They were vying for a spot in the WITF Grand Championship Spelling Bee. In order to qualify, they competed against roughly 150 other school champions from 10 surrounding counties. Only 34 students are able to advance to the WITF Grand Championship Spelling Bee.
Congratulations to Natalia Ramirez-Snell. She has earned a spot in the WITF Grand Championship Spelling Bee. She will represent Southern Middle School at the televised Spelling Bee to be held at WITF on February 22, 2020. The winner of the WITF Grand Championship Spelling Bee will move on to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee near Washington, DC!
