Battle of the Musicians

The Black Keys’ drummer Patrick Carney and pop sensation Justin Bieber have been battling out their differences on Twitter.  The feud began after Carney was asked why he thought Bieber did not receive any Grammy nominations.  According to The Sun, Carney responded, “He’s rich, right?  Grammys are, like, for music, not for money, and he’s making a lot of money.”
According to Daily News, Bieber angrily responded to this comment on Twitter writing that Carney needed to be “slapped around.”  In addition to Bieber’s response, Bieber’s fans, frequently called Beliebers, have gone after Carney as well.
Carney has retweeted and responded to many of the negative comments that the Beliebers have thrown at him.
One Bieber fan in particular gained a compliment from Carney.  “i just wanna help Justin slap you-,” a fan tweeted.  Carney responded, “You are a generous soul…”
Carney is definitely the comic relief when it comes to this twitter fight against the Beliebers.  Carney even changed his Twitter name to Justin Bieber twice for a while to annoy the teen’s fans.

Carney changed his profile back to his name, but he did try to play a prank on the Bieber fans when he was “Justin Bieber.”  He tweeted, “New bieber track world premier…”  The link was not to a new Bieber song though; it was to Devo’s, “Recombo DNA.”
However, the fans are overreacting.  Carney gave his opinion on the teen idol, and he has every right to do so.  There is no reason for thousands of Beliebers to go after him for speaking his mind.  Bieber himself has hardly been involved in all of this.  The fans are the ones harassing Carney for his opinion, which Carney does not rightly deserve.
Bieber fans need to back off and stop sending Carney tweets that say he is “pathetic” and “an obsessed idiot.”  Carney did speak his opinion about Bieber’s music, so he should expect some Bieber fans to go after him.  But once the fans began to make false accusations and began to call Carney multiple derogatory names, he did the opposite of what the Beliebers expected him to do: he made a joke out of it.
Bieber has not gotten involved in the feud with Carney again, but the Beliebers are making up for his lack of intervention with their thousands of tweets regarding their views regarding the drummer.

Currently, Carney is back to using his real name on Twitter, and he tweeted to fans, “Justin is gone…Hopefully everything is in order in three days.”  Even though music fans may be dedicated, sometimes they need to realize that everybody has different opinions when it comes to music, and they just have to accept those opinions even if they do not agree with them.
