Election Time: How to Register to Vote

Need to know how to register to vote for the midterm election for the governor of PA? Read below.

What date is the election?

The election is coming up on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The election is coming up on Nov. 6, and this midterm election is big because not only will it determine the governor of PA,  it will see how many seats the President will lose in Congress.

Is there a deadline to register?

The deadline to register was Oct. 9; you must be 18 years old or older to vote.

If I want to register, do I complete it online or on paper?

There is a form online called register to vote, and it will ask you for your name, phone number, date of birth, email, etc. https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/Pages/VoterRegistrationApplication.aspx

Do you have to be a U.S. citizen in order to be eligible to vote?

It will also ask if you are a U.S. citizen or not, and if you say ‘no,’ then you can’t fill out the form.

Where do I go to vote?

PA Voter Services will ask for your address and what city you live in, so they can give you a designated place to vote.

What parties are there for the election?

The form will also ask what party you want to register for. The choices are:

Democratic, Republican, no party and other.

Do they ask for your social security number or ID?

It will ask you to fill out your driver’s license card number, or if you don’t have your number, then they will ask you for the last four digits of your social security number.

Who is running for Republican and Democratic party?

Scott Wagner is part of the Republican party, and Tom Wolf is part of the Democratic party.

Who is the current governor right now, and how long has he been in office?

Tom Wolf  has been the governor since Jan. 20, 2015 and is the current governor now. Wolf is Democratic and will be running against Scott Wagner.
