“We talked as a team; our goal [is] to play past February 4 we have to keep our heads on us and together as a team, take each moment by each moment but with this team, the sky’s the limit,” said Shelow.

Shelow shows that his team is working hard, and he believes that they can all do great things this season.

Senior Will Ogude, who is returning for his third year on the team, is ecstatic for the new season quickly approaching.

Ogude believes he and his teammates can reflect together and learn from their mistakes.

This season, I’m looking forward to developing as a [whole] and finding our strengths [to] move forward to the postseason,” said Ogude.

The boys basketball team has been working hard so far and has made a new bond throughout the team.

Shelow believes his team is well put together.

“We have a nice mix of different positions, nice mix of different skills, Different experiences of different things,” said Shelow. “They are starting to mesh well. They’re starting look out for each other offensively and defensively.”

The boys seem to have good chemistry and work hard but also have fun while it lasts.

Freshman Jalen Franklin is a new player to the varsity squad.

Freshman Jalen Franklin plays strong defense on junior Harry Pecunes during the zigzag drill.

“I feel like I’m one of the guys and fitting in well, and it’s good I got to work out with them [over the summer] and I [got to] know most of the guys,” said Franklin.

To tip off the season, the boys have a tournament this coming Friday, Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
