VFW Post – Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest

Students from Southern Middle School submitted their works for the VFW Post #712 Auxiliary’s Patriot’s Pen Writing Contest. The students were asked to write about the theme “America’s Gift to My Generation”. Bea Angela Ricafort, 7th grader, won first place for her essay winning a $250 scholarship, Elena Martin, 7th grader, won second place for her essay winning a $150 scholarship, and Evan Martin, 7th grader, won third place for his essay winning a $150 scholarship. The students have been invited to accept their award sat the VFW District Awards Banquet being held February 24, 2018.
