Guys have many different options. For the majority of the school, the male wardrobe may just be cargo shorts and sports t-shirts, which is bland, and in no way will make you stand out and be noticed.
This is not to say that people need to try to be attention getters, but everyone should want to look good all the time; its a major confidence booster.
For the guys who are little more aware of how they look, there are numerous styles of short sleeves or shorts that can be utilized in the spring season.
Some guys love skinny jeans. They are comfortable and stylish. When spring comes around, instead of tossing out the jeans that don’t fit length wise anymore, try cutting them down.
Some may refer to this as the punk band shorts style, but it is growing, especially in the summer and at beaches. Why not get a head start and bring the trend to the school?
Another option for shorts, beside the giant, baggy, undifferentiating cargo style shorts that literally everyone will wear, could be bermudas. Some say that this style arose from the increase in lacrosse players, “Lax Bros,” in the school.
These are the thinner, colored shorts that have become popular in the fashion world. There are blue, salmon, green, and red shorts- basically any color you would consider wearing. These shorts will definitely help one stand out and make one feel good about themselves, either one is a plus.
Regarding shirts, t-shirts are just bad. The high school world has been consumed by guys in football or baseball t-shirts. We are not in elementary school, and girls actually care how we look now.
Don’t just wear t-shirts. Sure on occasion, like when one wakes up late and just feels too lazy to look through the dresser, a shirt may be picked up off the floor, but other than this situation there is not an excuse.
One of my personal favorites is the t-shirt with the buttons on the collar from On the Byas. It is technically a t-shirt, but it is a softer, thinner material with simple patterns and colors. No ravens heads or baseballs on it.
Believe it or not, girls will notice the difference, and nine times out of ten, the guy with the dirty football t-shirt will be ignored. These shirts are always on sale at the Pac Sun in the York Galleria mall for about $10-15.
Of course one should not take these few ideas and make a new wardrobe out of them, but these ideas should just help one to get a grip on new fashion and should help to expand one’s wardrobe horizons. Plus, girls like guys who care how they look, so step it up.
