Junior to Race in Local Competitions

Art Seminar students received a mysterious weekly homework assignment from Fine Arts Teacher Wesley Myers, leaving many to wonder what their peers were doing outside of Susquehannock.

According to Myers, junior Brian Reynolds approached him about having art students make designs for a car that would involve the Warrior logo.

“Brian approached me like two weeks ago and asked for some student help in designing his car,” said Myers. “I gave them each some templates, and they design according to what Brian said he wanted kind of as his pattern and color scheme and as his branding.”

Myers and the art students did not know when or how Reynolds would use the designs.

After speaking with Reynolds, some light was shed on the subject.

Reynolds, along with a group of four other Susquehannock students, are constructing a Jeep that they are planning to dirt race in the area.

The car designs that the art students have drawn are going to be used as the car’s actual paint designs on this Jeep. Reynolds explains that they hope to race soon once the car is fixed and ready to go.

“It is a fun event to represent the school,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds plans on getting his crew together to choose the best design by the art students.

After a crash in Maryland, the Jeep’s bodywork needs to be fixed. No one was injured in the crash, but it will take time to fix the car.

Reynolds hopes that he will be able to race it soon and use the art students designs to honor Susquehannock High School.
