Boys basketball shows progress

The boys basketball team, which currently holds a 13-4 record, believes they have what it takes to go to states this season.

The team’s earliest game this month was January 4 at Eastern York. The end result was a loss for Susquehannock, losing 52-56.

However, senior captain Tyler Brooks has confidence in the team going into the upcoming games.“Although we had some tough games, we came back and won,” said Brooks. “We look pretty strong. I believe Susquehannock will win; we will take control the whole game.”

Senior Robert Halterman is also looking forward to the games and feels confident in his training and individual skills as an athlete.
“We go out there with a lot of heart. I feel like my practices have made me a stronger athlete. It’s not always about wins,” said Halterman.
Although, the team has won several games this month against Kennard-Dale (55-51), York Suburban (65-56), Fairfield (76-52), New Oxford (45-38), Delone Catholic (70-59), York Tech (50-45) and York Catholic (55-45). Their one loss this month was a close game against Eastern York (52-56).

The basketball team’s next game is January 23 against Bermudian Springs at home beginning at 7:30 p.m.
