The NFL is approaching week 11, and that means that the season is coming to a close soon. This NFL season has been the year of surprises.

We’ve seen new starters come in like Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Fitzpatrick. We’ve seen star players flop and do nothing, like Eddie Lacy, Peyton Manning or Calvin Johnson, making fantasy football players furious.

Young players emerged as stars, like Derek Carr, Odell Beckham, Blake Bortles or Josh Norman. Many rookies came in and impressed, like Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Amari Cooper or even Todd Gurley.

Week 11 shows us a bitter rivalry of the Packers and the Vikings facing off to see who takes control of the NFC north. The Vikings currently lead the division at 7-2, but the Packers are eager to fight back from being 6-3 to take over the division.

Normally the game would already be intense as is, but now it’s for control of the division which has been dominated by the Packers for years now. It seemed like they’d have full control until they lost three in a row to  fall behind the Vikings with the resurgence of star Adrian Peterson (who’s having a tremendous season).

Peterson has 195 carries for 961  yards and 5 touchdowns through nine games played in. If Peterson keeps this up, he will be a shoo-in to win his second comeback player of the year award.

The Green Bay packers are being led by the reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers.  Rodgers has 21 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions with 2,270 yards through nine games of his own.

The surging Vikings are looking to knock off the super power offense of the Packers and know just how to do it. If the Vikings can get through the offensive line of the Packers and hit Rodgers a bit, then it will kill the confidence of the Packers o-line and kill their chances of protecting the star quarterback.

The only worry with that is that Rodgers is an amazing quarterback with the ability to scramble if needed.

It is hard stopping such a versatile quarterback like Rodgers who can really do it all offensively.

Former Louisville product Teddy Bridgewater, who the Vikings took 32nd overall last year and who was named the NFL and NFC rookie of the year, isn’t going to be able to get into a shootout with Rodgers. He will be able to run and gain a decent amount of yards on a read option that the Vikings will run from time to time to give their young QB the ball to run.

Bridgewater (as of week 10) has 93 yards rushing on 24 attempts and two touchdowns which is pretty good for a quarterback, and seeing that he’s slumping in his passing game (7 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, and only 1,810 yards, with an 84.6 QBR), he needs to rely on his ability to run.

It will be the battle of two amazing offenses who are ready for an all out fight on Sunday; however, the Packers will come out the winner of the game.  Rodgers is too strong of a quarterback to lose such an important game to a lesser opponent like Minnesota. If the Packers defense can give him some help, the Packers can win by a big margin.

Some other notable games for NFL week 11 are Bills vs Patriots, 49ers vs Seahawks and the Titans vs Jaguars on the Thursday night Color Rush game which includes new jerseys for both teams.

My predictions for the notable games would be the Patriots over the Bills, the Seahawks over the 49ers, and the Jaguars over the Titans (the Jaguars won 19-13).
