The Pitches are Back

Aca-believe it how amazing Pitch Perfect 2 was. From the cast to the comedy, everything was just, well perfect. Director Elizabeth Banks pulled out all the stops on this one.

First can we talk about the cast. Most of the girls from the first movie made it back for the film, including: Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow. Not only did they return, but President Obama and the first lady made an appearance in the first scene. Jimmy Fallon and a few players from the Green Bay Packers joined the cast on set as well. They really tried to fit in as many stars as they could.

The first movie made people fall off the edge of their chairs with laughter. The second-well, it was no exception. The laughter in the theatre made it almost hard to hear the movie.

When making a sequel, there’s always a lot of pressure to make it as good or better than the first movie. Fans seem to have had mixed feelings when seeing the movie.

Junior Camryn Burk saw the movie the weekend it came out, and she loved it.

“I liked the second one better because it was more humorous and interesting,” said Burk. “The music was also way better.”

The night of the movie’s release senior Stephanie Bortner went to the theatre to watch it, and she wasn’t as impressed.

“I liked the first movie better because the humor was funnier, and it wasn’t as predictable as the second,” said Bortner.

Almost every movie has some predictability to it, and like Bortner said, Pitch Perfect 2 was no exception. Even with the predictability, there was still a lot the audience didn’t see coming.

Sadly, there was hardly any Becca and Jesse scenes. That was a big letdown. It was a hard transition going from the first movie where a lot of the plot was centered around them to the second movie where they are just a normal couple doing their own things.

Even without the cute Besse (that’s their ship name) scenes, the movie was still aca-mazing.
