Business teacher Angela Lehigh’s Diversified Occupations students have written commentary pieces to make students more aware of potential blue collar career choices.

“People who want to further their education should consider becoming a Computer Numerical Control machinist. With this career choice, you will have the benefit of training under the best personnel and also have certifications for various aspects of your job. With that being said, you can also gain management positions such as being a foreman. Management positions get paid almost $25.00 an hour, providing more skills you can use and acquire while training, higher pay, and a higher value as an employee. Choose this in demand career because it’s always looking for motivated professionals.” -Eric Miller

Bullet-1 “Yes, carpenters lay our flooring, but they are also vastly skilled in their trade. They install wood work, concrete, and general framework to buildings. Over 1,500 people are needed in this job force at this time. Without carpenters, we wouldn’t have a place to live, work, or fulfill our daily wants and needs; our future wouldn’t have a home. Consider carpentry as a profession that will always be needed.” -Elise Delozier
