New retelling of classic spooky tale

A secluded house on an island, strange children, no Wi-Fi or cell phone service, and supernatural appearances are all pieces of a hauntingly alluring plot included in The Turning by Francine Prose that will be coming out later this month.   Standing out from recent Young Adult novel releases, The Turning is a modern YA adaptation of The Turn of the Screw.   The plot follows a boy named Jack who is going to stay on an island over the summer to babysit two children.   Jack begins to see people other than the children and housekeeper that no one else sees.  Jack tries to uncover the mystery of the house as he tries to figure out if he is living in an alternate reality.  The Turning is due to be released on Tuesday, September 25.
