After promising his children to make a movie of one of their favorite books, Mary Poppins, he begins to work with the writer of the book P.L Travers, played by Emma Thompson. Travers proves to be a stubborn woman who refuses to change anything about the book, as well as turning the book into a Hollywood movie.   The Desolation of Smaug

The start of a new Lord of the Rings trilogy has started up the fandom again with its incredible story as the new series follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit. Martin Freeman stars as the hobbit, and after the first sequel, continues his journey with Gandalf and the others.

Senior Dan Costa is a huge fan and went to go see the midnight premiere with friends.

He was really excited about An Unexpected Journey and couldn’t wait to see the next installment.

“Imagine being born, and then being born again. That’s what it felt like,” said Costa.

The Desolation of Smaug was able to incorporate some well known characters from the first movies like Orlando Bloom as Legolas and Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins. As well, rising actor Benedict Cumberbatch provides the voice for the necromancer and Smaug, the dragon.

“I like the fact that they stuck to the original characters,” Costa said on behalf of reincorporated characters. “The cast is really great.”

A few of his favorite characters are Gandalf and Legolas because “Wizards are awesome, and who doesn’t like elves?”

The Desolation of Smaug premiered December 13.

All three of these new movies, and others, provide different subjects and themes that a lot of different people are able to enjoy.
