How to survive hunting for the perfect prom look

With prom just around the corner, two months may feel like it is not enough time to find the perfect dress and accessories- it can be done.

  It is easy to find accessories to match once one has found the perfect dress. If the dress is short, adding a few wrist bangles can add the right flare that a longer dress would.

  Short dresses should also have strappy heels or eye-catching shoes to show off those legs. Interesting and fun heels go better with short dresses or plain dresses with a slit because long dresses would cover more unique styles.

  Strapless dresses should include short necklaces to accent the neckline perfectly. Jewelry color should depend on the colors of the dress. If the dress has sequins or beading, then the jewelry should either be gold or silver and sparkling depending on the color of beading.

  While junior Hannah Jensen is going to prom in a suit and tie since this year’s theme is James Bond, she has considered dresses.

  “If I got a dress this year, I’d like something that is form-fitting,” said Jensen. “I like elegant dresses that are red.”

  If the dress has an accent colored belt or sash, the shoes, nails, or even makeup should match that color enough to give the dress more color variety.

  Ballroom gowns go perfect with hair tied back or up in a tasteful bun.

  Ballroom gowns are very classy and should only be pieced together with a necklace and/or a ring. Long, curled hair would look best with a mermaid style dress or a dress with an empire waistline. Darker makeup should be worn with these types of dresses, but ball gowns should have little makeup so that one does not take away from the tulle of the dress.

   Sophomore Brandy Bradford recently bought her prom dress over the weekend.

  “I have a peach dress,” said Bradford. “I like more conservative-looking styles, and I’d like to have a necklace…anything from basic pearls to sparkly diamonds.”

  It is easy to find the right accessories for the perfect prom dress as long as these tips are taken into consideration. Anyone can find the right look to look fierce at prom.
