Spirit week was filled with colorful pajamas, patriotic outfits, and comfy plaid.

This spirit week aimed to get students ready for the upcoming King of Hearts dance which was held on Saturday, February 9th.

Senior Student council member Jeanette Wilson helps pick out what each spirit day will consist of.

“Student Council has a Spirit Committee that brainstorms about 10-12 ideas for the spirit days,” said Wilson. “We then put them up on the board, and every member gets to vote for 4-5 days.”

On Monday, one could see the hallways littered with lively ‘onesies’ worn by a great population of the student body. Traditional pajama tops and bottoms also could be found making their way through the school. This was by far the comfiest day that the students experienced.
All that eyes could see on Tuesday were the colors red, white, and blue, worn by students supporting not only our school, but our country as well.
Junior Ian Bourne participated in the school’s America Day.
“I supported my country because I am proud to be an American,” said Bourne.
Wednesday was a day full of students in plaid. Hallways were full of different combinations of plaid, through shirts, pants, jackets, and hats. Both teachers and students participated in this day to show pride for our school.
On Thursday, clothes of red and white filled the school, showing the students’ school pride. Face paint and beads were among the clothes to create more spirit with each outfit.
Biology teacher Scott McLaughlin, participated in all of the spirit days during the week.
“It went okay,” said McLaughlin. “I think they need to put more emphasis on the spirit days; I don’t think a lot of students participated that could’ve.”
The King of Hearts pep rally was the great ending to the week. The gym was packed with boisterous students decked out in red and white.
The sophomores took home the crown for the spirit contest by participating the most in all of the spirit days.
