Kanye West Has a New Best Friend

By Alex Marshall, Reporter

The larger than life rapper Kanye West is out hospitalization and was seen with his newest friend: President-Elect Donald Trump.

West created a bit of a controversy after recently bailing out on a concert in Sacramento, California, canceling the rest of the dates on his Saint Pablo Tour, and visiting a hospital for mental health concerns.

And even after rumors surfaced of his wife Kim Kardashian’s wanting a divorce, the rapper showed face in New York,  more specifically, at the Trump Tower.

This isn’t the first time their friendship has been brought up; West said if he were to vote, his vote would have been for Trump, during a concert in San Jose, California.

But after seeing their uber casual handshake, it’s safe to say they are well acquainted.

Paparazzi and journalists flooded the lobby, popping off tough questions towards Trump regarding his recent choice of the new Secretary of State, but he paid no mind and calmly posed for a photo with his friend West.

Afterward, West took to twitter.

“I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues… These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago… I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change,” said West.

His next tweet of the night left many people in a bit of a confused state by saying “#2024.”

Many feel it implies that West’s plans for running for president will be postponed, as to give his pal Trump another 4 years to continue his presidency.

The final tweet Kanye posted regarding Trump was a signed copy of Trump on Time Magazine, with the caption stating “To Kanye, you are a great friend. Thanks, Donald Trump.”

This new friendship has caused lots of ruckus in the political world and the music world.

Senior Zak Kettinger, fan of both Trump and West, highly approves of their relationship.

“Most people don’t want Kanye to be with Trump, but it makes happy to see him stand up for what he believes in and try to make an effort for his community,” says Kettinger.

However, senior Jeff Fodel, is an avid fan of Trump but cannot stand West, disapproves.

“Out of all of the rappers to become friends with Trump, why did it have to be Kanye? Why couldn’t it have been T.I. or Meek Mill?” said Fodel.

Not much more is known about their friendship, but it seems they’re not afraid to show it off.

America may be seeing more of Donald Trump and Kanye West in the news soon.
