The Susquehannock High School Field Hockey Team played South Western High School at Spooky Nook Sports, home of the USA Women’s Field Hockey National Team on Friday, September 16, 2016.

Varsity field hockey head coach Tracey Kerr said South Western head coach Holly Long approached her about playing their game at the Nook. “It is really exciting for the girls to play where the Olympic team trains, especially in an Olympic year,” said Kerr.  Varsity players Brooke Morris, Julia McKenzie, Maggie Howells, and Lauren Wojcik were very excited for the experience. “I got to see a USA vs. Ireland field hockey game there before the Olympics,” said Howells. “It’s a really fast game on the Astro Turf,” she said. The players agreed that the game would be fast-paced and tiring but a unique opportunity and new experience for the team.

Susquehannock won the game against South Western 5-1.
