The Susquehannock High School Alumni Association named a memorial scholarship after Sidney W. Krebs, SHS Class of 1969.

The Alumni Association’s Steering Committee chose to name the $500 scholarship after Krebs, who was a long time SHS assistant varsity baseball coach and served as Head Mechanic for the District. Prior to working at the District, Krebs worked at York-based, Heidlebaugh’s Appliance.

In 2006, Krebs helped lead the varsity baseball team to a PIAA District championship and the team advanced to the state tournament.

While a student at Susquehannock, Krebs was involved in various activities, including the Conservation Club.

Krebs had a most charming and genial personality. He was generous, thoughtful, kind, and beloved by all who knew him. He passed away in May of 2015.

Contributions to this scholarship fund may be made to the Southern York County School District Foundation in Krebs’ name. For more information about the SYCSD Foundation, click here, or contact Dr. Wayne McCullough at 717-235-4811, ext. 7274.
