As the spring sports season starts up, the boys volleyball team is happy to welcome Donna Sheddy as the new head coach to replace retired head coach Rob Marrison. Sheddy has a son who played boys volleyball all four years that he attended Susquehannock High School, and this is her first year as a coach.

“My goals are to be competitive and have fun and win as much as possible,” said Sheddy.

So far the team has had three open gyms, and sophomore Jake Williams is enthusiastic about how Sheddy will improve their team.

“I feel she is going to be a very solid coach. She has a lot of new viewpoints for the players, the younger players especially. All in all I believe that she will just generally improve the team,” said Williams.

Senior Nate Trego is also looking forward to this season with Sheddy as coach and expects the team to do very well.

“I like her as a coach because she is very direct with us. She knows what she is doing because her son Brian played volleyball, so she has a lot of experience with the sport. I think that she will help us to do even better than we did last year because she is very determined,” said Trego.

Tryouts for this boys volleyball season took place on Monday, March 7 and Sheddy is hoping for a good season to start her career as head coach of the boys volleyball team with their first game occurring at Dallastown on March 29th.
