Southern York County School District Presents 16th Annual Jazz Fest

The Southern York County School District’s Band Boosters will present the 16th Annual Jazz Fest in the Big Easy on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Shrewsbury Elementary School. This year’s program features the Susquehannock High School Jazz Band, directed by Chris Poole and the Southern Middle School Jazz Band, directed by Justin Presley.
Entertainment will also be provided with performances from other school bands, including the jazz bands of Kennard-Dale High School, York Suburban High School, and South Western High School. In addition, the Baltimore-based band, TheMelting Pot Big Band will also be featured at the event.
The Jazz Fest is held in a coffee house atmosphere, with members of the Susquehannock High School band program serving as the wait staff. A selection of specialty coffees, teas, and desserts will be available. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and performances start at 6:45 p.m.
Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for senior citizens, and $6.00 for students. Tickets preordered by April 21st, will be discounted by $1.00.
