By Ariel Barbera, Assistant Editor-in-Chief

Filming unique videos has always been a skillful attribute of video productions teacher Timothy Hare.  He enjoys seeing students use their imagination and inspires creativity throughout most of his classes.

Growing up in Shrewsbury, Hare was a 1995 graduate of Susquehannock High School, attending York College shortly after graduation.

Hare has been teaching at Susquehannock High School for 12 years and enjoys seeing his students have fun on their projects.

“My favorite part of the school day is when I get to interact with the kids and have some fun,” said Hare.  “Anytime we get to cut loose and have some fun is always my favorite part.”

Many students enjoy the projects Hare assigns in his classes.

Junior Casey Beall enjoyed having video productions with him and had fun with the many projects he assigned.

“My favorite part of the class was doing the projects and having all of that freedom with doing them,” said Beall.  “He was really fun and outgoing, and I think he really tried to connect with [the students].”

Hare teaches a wide variety of classes that include: video productions, career seminar and some sections of senior English.

“All of the classes offer something interesting,” said Hare.  “My favorite class would be the advanced storytelling class because we spend a lot of time talking about a lot of things in my specialty, such as visual storytelling and media writing.”

Junior Amber Manuel had fun filming a wide variety of videos.

“Making outside videos was fun, such as videos at home,” said Manuel.  “We did this door scene, and I really liked doing that.  It was fun working with different people.”

Students gained a lot of knowledge on using cameras and filming videos from Hare.  Many students even use this knowledge outside of the class when filming other videos for school.

“I think his teaching style really works with the students,” said Beall.  “He tries to help us and gives us freedom to use our imagination.”

After a long day of teaching, Hare enjoys going home to his family and likes to sit back and watch some of his favorite movies, which include: The Usual Suspects, The Shawshank Redemption and The Empire Strikes Back.

Taking a video productions class with Hare is sure to be one of the most enjoyable classes of the semester.
