Student posts on Facebook can do more harm than good

Facebook is well-known to the high school population, and due to the associated maturity level, Facebook has simply gone downhill.

While some post daily statuses stating what they are doing or even how they are doing, others may post lyrics or even poems.
On another hand, someone may only have a Facebook page to stay in contact with distant family members, while another is only interested in what their friends are doing 24/7; the point is that everyone has their own reasoning as to how or why they use it.
Posting a simple everyday status of feelings and/or song lyrics is one thing, but some take it way too far.
Now when teens have problems with each other, they tend to solve them with Facebook by either “tagging” someone in a status or even posting to their wall, causing serious drama.
When someone “tags” someone in a status calling them out on something they did, said, or wore, it can be hurtful; there’s no need for it whatsoever. It makes the person doing it look extremely insensitive and can hurt the other person more than they realize.
To add to the problem of already calling someone out, other people  become involved in the drama, causing it to be an even bigger problem. Of course, nasty words are said, and it causes even more gossip than there originally was in the first place. Having an opinion on Facebook is one thing, but there’s a certain point where you should think to yourself, ‘Is this really worth it?’
People need to start taking precaution when they decide to post.
