SMS 7th Grade Football fights thru rain

The 7th-grade football team played against Bermudian Springs at Susquehannock’s home stadium on Wednesday, September 30.

Brad Holtzapple,  head coach for the Warriors, felt confident prior to the game.

“ I’d like to predict a winning game for our team,” said Holtzapple, during pre-game warm-ups.

Logan Snyder, Class of 2020, chimed in, “We’re going to win!”

The earlier storm and the present light shower was presumed to be a nuisance to the athletes. Snyder said, ““The ball might be a little slippery and be hard to grip.”

However, the Warriors had prepared for this scenario.

“We practice when it’s raining. We practice in the sunshine. We don’t practice if it’s thundering and lightning. There’s two teams out there playing football; they both got the same weather, so it’s going to affect them as much as it is us,” said Holtzapple.
