Warrior Soccer Stores Up Energy

Back to Back to Back?

One or two games a week is usual when looking at a team’s schedule, but three?

The boys and girls soccer teams are both undergoing this exact circumstance this week.

The competition is tough; both teams are matching up against Central, West York and Gettysburg. Unfortunately, both the girls and boys fell short Monday night to Central. In dramatic fashion, the boys lost 2-1 in overtime while the girls fell 2-0. However, both teams redeemed themselves and came out again last night against West York with a 2-1 win for the boys and a 1-0 win for the girls.

Boys’ and girls’ senior captains Brady Gallegos and Ashley Stone dished out the inside scoop on how their teams had to prepare for this busy week, as well as how the team is dealing with their demanding schedules.

“Mentally, everyone is just staying focused and thinking about one game at a time. Physically, everyone is taking care of their bodies and making sure they eat great food and drink enough water. After having these games in a row we’re just pretty tired, but we’re going to use this day off today and get rested up for the big game Thursday and hopefully get that win,” said Gallegos.

“To prepare our coach made a game report of the strengths and weaknesses of the other teams so we can correctly compare them to the players/positions on our team. Also, we are stretching a lot more to prevent any further injury; our team suffered a couple of injuries, but we’re working with the trainers to overcome them to be successful in our upcoming games. For now, everybody is staying hydrated, and staying positive. ” said Stone.
