“We have a completely brand new squad. Seven new girls have joined us and are ready to learn the basics of a varsity squad,” said Beste

Senior captain Nia Bennett knows the squad has potential.

“I love everyone on the team. Even though we have a new group, there is a lot going for us success wise,” said Bennett.

New stunts are part of the plan, pushing the team to the next level of difficulty. They include: making their pyramid higher and unexpected moves.

The entire squad needs to be in sync.

“We have to teach the basics to this new squad. We have to learn the basic building stunts,” said Beste.

Sophomore Kate Burgess is a new varsity member who is excited for a challenge.

“It’s very exciting to be on varsity because I get to learn more at a higher level and be with new people,” said Burgess.

This year the squad is looking to turn it around to be on top for the upcoming season.
