Top Five Prospects Enter NFL

The time has come for the nation’s top 5 prospects to enter the NFL.

Senior Nicholas DeLuca was very confused during the draft.

“I was expecting more trades in the beginning, but there were no trades at all. I was surprised,” DeLuca said.

With the first pick in the 2015 NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston was a star quarterback for the University of Florida State. Winston was an All-American quarterback and a Heisman trophy winner. Winston is going to be the starting quarterback.

The second pick in the 2015 NFL draft went to the Tennessee Titans, and they picked up Marcus Mariota. Mariota was a star quarterback for the University of Oregon. Mariota was also a Heisman trophy winner and an All-American. The draft prospects chose Mariota for his decision making as a leader of his Oregon team.

Junior Myles Moultrie agreed with the Titans’ decision.

“The Titans made a smart choice with Mariota because they needed a quarterback,” Moultrie said.

Mariota is predicted to start for the Titans in the next season as a starting quarterback. NFL scouts said that Mariota should have been the first pick, but others beg to differ.

AP Calculus teacher JC Lewis said he was disappointed with his Philadelphia Eagles.

“I was disappointed because we did not make a move to get Mariota.. needed to see more trades,” Lewis said.

With the third pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Dante Fowler Jr. Fowler was an offensive linebacker for the University of Florida. Fowler led the Gators in 15 tackles per game and 8.5 quarterback sacks. Fowler was a five star recruit out of Lakewood High School and also competed in the 2012 Under Armour All-American All-star game. Fowler is predicted to be a huge asset to the Jaguar offense in the oncoming season.

The Oakland Raiders had the fourth pick and selected wide receiver Amari Cooper from the University of Alabama. Cooper has the most achievements out of all the players in the draft, but surprisingly, he wasn’t picked first. Cooper was the unanimous first team All-American and was SEC offensive player of the year. Cooper is also a Heisman trophy winner for his stellar offensive attributions to the Alabama offense. Cooper led the nation in receptions with 124 catches and 31 touchdown receptions. Cooper was a true star in Alabama and is looking forward to making things happen with the new Oakland Raiders.

The fifth pick went to The Washington Redskins, and they chose to draft Brandon Scherff, the offensive tackle from the University of Iowa. Scherff was also an unanimous All-American in 2014, and he was on the First Team All-Big Ten. Scherff was amazing on the field in Iowa. He replaced the starting tackle and started seven games into the season and then suffered a serious broken fibula which took him out for the remainder of the season. Despite the injury, Scherff was awarded the Outland Trophy for being the country’s best interior lineman. Scherff was predicted to really help the Redskins offense. Playing along Robert Griffin III, Scherff and Griffin are predicted to be a serious threat to the league in the oncoming season.
