Senioritis Takes Over The Class of 2015

By Abigail Bentz, Editor in Chief

“Senioritis” can be defined as a change in attitude during a student’s final year of high school that can be characterized by a decrease in motivation and performance.

Senioritis hits some students harder than others. It is so popular that the yearbook has even developed a superlative “Worst Case of Senioritis.”  After asking a few seniors what exactly incites their senioritis, there is an obvious change of mindset that occurs during the second semester.

Even though there are many seniors showing symptoms of senioritis, there are just as many that are finishing high school strong. With few months to go before AP tests, the awarding of scholarships and even less time before class ranks are finalized, this group of students have found something to motivate them to complete work and keep trying their best.

Teachers are hoping to keep the seniors’ attention for a couple more months leading up to their graduation scheduled for June 3, 2015.
